The Magic Bus is Back in its Terminal
Thank you for riding along with us as we brought to fruition our Alabama to Acadia trip. It was such a huge undertaking for us, and I am happy to report that it went as planned, we had a wonderful time, and we arrived home safely.
It was such a relief to let the pets back in the house and begin to catch up with our family. It took about 12 hours to unload everything from the RV; did I really need to pack so many clothes?! It might have been faster, but Ed can barely walk. It’s official, he has no cartilage in his left knee; who knew?? We found out this morning at Sports Med Urgent Care. He’s been referred to a knee surgeon to find out his options. For now, he has a fancy brace that relieves the bone-on-bone pressure. The Sports Med Urgent Care PA also told us our back problems are probably from riding e-bikes so much without conditioning. “But it was so fun!” Next time we will better prepared.
Happy Pets
I’m including a few shots of our pets in there “at home again” vibe. Ginger likes to observe from the highest point possible, Toby is happy on the bed, and Leo is resting behind Ed under the drum set. All is well with the world. We were so glad to see Athena again! She is our 15 year old outdoor cat. The kids have been taking excellent care of her and I think she may have gained a little weight since Candice trapped the feral cat and we are no longer part of his food circuit.
Till We Ride Again
As it storms like crazy here in Huntsville, our motorhome is tucked in it’s nifty protective shelter. I think I just heard a branch hit the roof of our house again. Yep, we are home at our wooded lot.
Where should we go next? We’ve been to Key West, Florida; Bar Harbor, Maine; Utah’s National Parks, and years ago (back when we were still car camping) did Yellowstone, Glacier and Yosemite National Parks. Maybe a slow tour through the Smokies would be unique. We seem to have the prettiest mountains nearby and more wildlife than any we saw on this trip. Happy trails my friends!
